The Branding System

Fortune Seeker is an application designed to bring your fortunes to life. This application was made with designing for joy in mind. Thinking of how opening a fortune cookie could evolve  into something greater, I created an interface that coincides with your paper fortune once the application is downloaded. After this, your paper fortune will then be translated into a further “telling” video that is directly related to its theme— from love, money, future, destiny, and past. Each link printed on the paper fortunes are unique to the video that matches it. You can also save these digital tellings or share the video clip via social media. They are then stored within the app similar to an instagram feed with the paper fortune and lucky numbers as the caption to each online telling and separated by category. This project involved creating the fortune clips  in after effects, and developing  the interface where the videos can be stored after for viewing. I then comprised a promotional video of the experience to show just how it works. This was my second experience working with after effects to create something of meaning with motion and audio and taught me alot about type with movement concerning readability. The importance of this endeavor was to create an experience that brought people something of meaning and joy while experimenting more with my motion design skills for the first time.
